I told my husband this morning that he needed to wish me a happy National Scrapbooking Day.  His response was, “They actually have a day for that?”  :)  Yes, they do!   I hope you find some time for scrapping today…not sure that I will as we have a huge pile of mulch in our driveway right now waiting to be spread.

Anyway, if you are interested… (and who wouldn’t be?)….  in honor of National Scrapbooking Day, April and Scarlet over at Studio Calico are giving away a 6 month subscription FREE to a lucky winner.  Go check out the details here and let them know that I sent ya!

Here are few Pink Paislee projects that I’ll leave you with today.  The first one is on the Pink Paislee blog and is based on a Pagemaps sketch.

This one mixes some MM Animal Crackers with the PP…my adorable nephew, Austin.

And finally, just a little welcome sign…using Spring Fling, some Maya Road chipboard and some yummy velvet scalloped ribbon from Creative Cafe!

This month’s kit at Studio Calico… LOVED it!  Here are my projects for this month.

I used mostly the Comic Book add on for this one.  Love the Cosmo Cricket blackboard gears and the Sassafras robot paper.  The journaling highlights some of the basics of being a boy.  :)

This layout uses JUST the main kit, Newstand.  There so much yummy stuff in the main kit alone.  I cut strips from the Hambly ATC strip and used the Maya Road sheer pages as title and journaling blocks.

This was my favorite from this month.  I love this photo of my daughter on Easter.  The only one she would let me take.  I stamped the butterflies on some patterned paper and then cut them out and pop dotted them on the page.  I used the four different colors of floss to stitch flight paths for the butterflies with some MM velvet brads at each end.

Finally, here’s a minibook I did of my time at CHA with the Studio Calico girls.  They are all such sweet, fun women and all amazingly talented!!! Can’t wait to see them again this summer.

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  We had a very productive day yesterday with yardwork and planting and today are just taking it easy.  I’m getting caught up on some projects and finally getting around to posting them!  Here are my Pageframes projects for this month.

First the robot….

I used the new patterned door hanger for this.  Filled in some of the squares with Sassafras paper scraps and decorated my little Cosmo Cricket robot.  The boys love this and already broke the robot off once.  Time to pull out the super glue for that guy!

Now for the ribbons…

This is a little scalloped edged tag I made into a card.  The pretty self adhesive ribbons are Martha Stewart, the rubon is SEI and the pearl brad is Creative Cafe.

And finally… a clear card (aren’t these so cool?!) with some Hambly.  Did this for the Studio Calico Blog challenge I posted earlier.

And that’s it for now.  Be sure to stop by for reveal night at Studio Calico tonight.  It will be crazy and fun as always.  And Jenn had a great idea for the festivities tonight…check it out in her SC blog post and be ready!   ;)

Here’s my little princess.  My 2 going on 22 year old is big time into the whole princess thing.  She loves everything Disney Princess, so I saved a tag from one of the many licensed Disney items we have to use on a layout.  I’ve had this tag forever and finally got some photos to go with it.  These pictures are from one of her dress up sessions.  :)

Make sure you stop by the Studio Calico Blog this week.  I’m hosting and posted a challenge over there.  April and Scarlet will be supplying a RAK to a lucky winner so play along for a chance to win!

And finally….I need a new header for this little blog.  The snowy scene isn’t cutting it anymore since it’s almost May!  HA!  I need help though…how does one create a header?  Photoshop I’m guessing?  Yikes.  Any suggestions are welcomed!!!! :)

For some Studio Calico sneak peeks!  I have been neglecting this blog for the past couple weeks…was traveling for a bit and then this whole week I’ve been totally consumed with the May Studio Calico kit that was waiting here for me when I got back.  I think this may very well be my favorite kit so far and I just couldn’t stop scrapping with it until I had finished!  I still have some lots of bits and pieces to use up too.   Here are some little peeks….

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!

It’s been a rainy, cloudy weekend here…perfect for staying inside and scrapping!  We actually braved the chilly weather today for a trip to Busch Gardens and had a great, slightly wet time.  I thought I’d share some Pink Paislee projects I finished yesterday.

Here’s a card I made with the Spring Fling line and some die cut tags from Office Lingo.  And yes, those are toothpicks holding up the “4 You” signs.  :)

For this layout I used the pretty die cut circle paper…love this paper.  Made the little sun from scraps of the orange die cut paper.  The letter stamps and die cut are also PP!

On a different note, I’m involved with my local MOPS group.  I’m actually the Creative Activities leader/person/whatever.  :)  For our last craft of the year I decided to use some of my scrapbooking supplies and some cheap unfinished frames from Oriental Trading Co to make these little keepsakes.  The contain this year’s theme verse.  I painted, sanded, and inked the frame to distess it.  Then on the printed cardstock I handstitched the butterfly’s path.  It’s hard to see in the photo.  I used scraps to back the HS butterflies and added them to the outside of the frame along with some rick rack.  I hope the moms will like it and enjoy making it!

Have a great day!

Don’t you love Fridays?  Today it was my turn to post over on the Pink Paislee blog.  Fridays will be sketch days over there, so I created a layout based on a sketch by the oh-so-talented Becky Fleck.  You can find her sketches at PageMaps (and you should bookmark this site because it’s FULL of inspiration!).  Anyways, here’s my take on her sketch.  I had fun with the Pink Paislee tree stamp…it’s just too cute!

These are some photos from last sping/summer.  Great Grandma sent the kids some praying mantis egg cases (because she knew that Connor especially loves praying mantises) and we waited 2 weeks for those little guys to hatch out.  When they did…oh my, it was very cool.  There were hundreds of them crawling out of the egg cases.  They are just miniature versions of the adults, but sort of see through at first.  Then they get nice and green.  To say the kids were excited about the baby mantises would be an understatement!  :)  (And I was pretty wowed too…being an ex-Biology teacher and environmental educator!)  So, if you have kids that love bugs and nature, order some egg cases (they are cheap) for a fun spring science lesson.  Just be sure to leave the egg cases OUTSIDE so you don’t have lots of mantis houseguests!

Have a great weekend.
