Looking Glass

Cate had her first ballet class this morning.  It was so cute!  I forgot my camera of course…but I’ll get some pics next time.  She did really well from what I could see peeking in the one tiny window they have.  🙂

Thought I should share my Looking Glass pages for Studio Calico.  This month the DT decided to do a tribute to Aleida Franklin, a friend of everyone at SC who passed away just a few weeks ago.  I think it was lovely to see how we each were inpspired by either her layouts or her spirit or both.  Here’s the page I did.  Aleida had posted on her blog about being in the photos more often rather than being behind the camera.  Because you won’t be around forever and your children will cherish those photos.  So, I heeded her advice and this page is to remind me to hand over the camera more often.  Scarlet MADE all the gorgeous flowers….she’s amazing!

Next is a two pager!  In one month I did an 8.5 x 11 AND a two-pager!  Yep, this kit is good!  🙂  These photos are from our little visit to the Strip District in Pittsburgh with Grandma and Grandpa.  I love the one pic of Cate holding her nose in the fish market.

I was at a MOPS meeting once a few years ago and the speaker said, “You know what a three year old is, don’t you?”  We said, “what?”  And he said, “A two year old with a year’s experience.”  So true, so true!  This perfectly describes THREE!  🙂  I’m in love with these Basic Grey chipboard letters.  Such a great size!

(Oh, and that page is the featured layout on 2peas today!  Yay!)

I really loved the handwriting type of patterned paper in this kit and it was perfect for this page.  I had my Kindergarteners write their names on it (look closely..they write so lightly!) b/c they keep telling me that NOW that they are in Kindergarten they have to write “kindergarten style”.  Which is apparently different than the normal printing way. Who knew?

And finally, this one of my little sweet pea when she was really a little sweet pea.  Love all the creases on her arms and legs where you don’t usually have creases!  Those cute baby rolls!

And that’s it!  🙂  I need to go vacuum the family room now to get ready for our new furniture to be delivered!  Hooray!  No more disgusting college couch!
